Sister Spectator

Ever since I teased my 14-year old brother about something and he responded with, “how would you know? You’re never home” I have been really wanting to make it up to my siblings. Come to think of it, before leaving last year I was too busy for anything, then of course I was gone for four months and two weeks, then I have not been really home HOME until probably around June when life started to pick up again.

I have always loved watching Migi, my 19-year old brother, whenever he would have plays and gigs as he was very much involved in his theater group Dulaang Sibol before. Now he’s in two bands: Leonecast (with his high school friends), an alternative band, and JZE, a reggae and ska band. He plays the electric guitar and sax.

I have also equally loved watching my 14-year old brother Miel’s football games. He’s been playing for ten years! I always pray for his knees! Just last June he was part of the Philippine team that was supposed to play in Singapore but was quarantined because one of the players had swine flu. A solo picture of my bro with a surgery mask was on the front page of the Singapore papers. Lol!

Okay I know I’m such a proud sister. :p Pardon me.

Over the weekend, I tried my photography skills while watching Miel’s football game against La Salle Lipa. I enjoyed watching though because now I know more of his teammates also. Excuse my camera lenses, maybe next time I’d get more help when they’re nicer and more fit for sports photography (I’m kidding. I have yet to learn to get an eye for this although they say it’s really a lot like painting haha) So again, I am a frustrated artist as frustrated can be.

I also watched Migi’s band JZE at the UP College of Fine Arts. It was the first time that I heard them play. Thanks to my lovely friend Niccole who went with me. Will upload the video later on. Haha! Try to spot her amongst the out-of-this-world stoned people. Perfect for my bro’s band’s musical performance.

I guess I really needed to do something new something old something blue, especially for last weekend. In some ways I feel like a snake peeling off old skin. I’m really enjoying. :) Haha!
